Plans for the Mounds View High School 2004 Golden Jubilee 50th anniversary celebration are underway. The event will be held Saturday, July 31, 2004 at the high school. All present and former Mounds View students, alumni (students, teachers, and staff) are welcome. We are expecting between 10,000 and 15,000 in attendance.

There is no charge to participate or attend on the day of the event, but we need your help to underwrite the operating costs and publicity for the "all school" reunion daytime event. Any funds remaining after expenses are covered will go into the Mounds View High School Alumni Association Scholarship Fund, which has been providing scholarships to sons and daughters of Mounds View alumni for 17 years.

The school grounds will be open at 10 a.m. for tours of the newly remodeled facility and to accommodate class gatherings in assigned rooms. Once again there will be a silent auction of jerseys, trophies and other sport memorabilia. Food vendors will supply coffee, sodas and other snacks. A golf tournament, pancake breakfast, antique car show are planned over the weekend and the reunion day will be capped off by a program featuring the Mounds View High School Alumni Choir, Band and Orchestra and " Vignettes from the Decades " . Many classes will be organizing their own individual class gathering on Saturday evening. Additional details are available on the web site.

We are receiving contributions from local business people, members of the community, graduates, families and classes. We welcome all the support you are able to provide. A couple of longtime community families and familiar names have dropped the gauntlet and issued a special challenge as to who (family name or class) will collectively achieve the highest level of support -- Diamond Mustang, Gold Mustang, Silver Mustang, Bronze Mustang or Green & White Mustang.
